Overview

Join the medical professionals at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, a trusted name in health care. You will be part of a team focused on delivering patient-centered care. That’s what Dr. Mavis Kelsey, a fifth-generation Texan, dreamed of more than 60 years ago after returning to Houston from the prestigious Mayo Clinic. He envisioned the creation of a premier medical group combining primary care with the highly focused expertise of specialists in many medical fields.

Today, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic has more than 350 physicians at 20 clinic locations in and around Houston practicing in more than 50 medical specialties. These doctors choose to practice medicine together in a collaborative group practice rather than in a solo or small group practice. As a physician at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, you will join an organization led by physicians who value the ability to collaborate and share information as a team on behalf of their patients.

Our compensation is productivity based and includes salary.  A comprehensive benefits package is designed to provide a full range of coverage in health and benefits, retirement, continuing medical education, paid time off, medical professional liability, and much more.

Responsibilities

Dermatology is the medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of all conditions associated with the skin – the body’s largest organ. Kelsey-Seybold’s Dermatologists have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric and adult patients with benign and some malignant conditions, ranging from acne and psoriasis, to malignant melanomas. These specialists also have expertise in the management of cosmetic disorders of the skin, such as hair loss and scars.

During three years of additional medical training, Dermatologists learn how the immune system influences the cause of skin disorders and gain expertise in the use of ultraviolet light in the treatment of skin diseases. Dermatologists also have extensive training and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of:

  • Skin cancers, melanomas, moles and other tumors of the skin
  • Contact dermatitis and other allergic and non-allergic conditions
  • Disorders of the skin, mouth, hair and nails.

In many instances, a Kelsey-Seybold dermatologist will provide consultation to the primary care physician regarding a particular skin problem. The dermatologist will provide ongoing treatment and may perform procedures to correct the problem. The patient may be referred back to the primary care physician for follow-up treatment.
